It is a common misconception that vaping is illegal in all 50 states. In reality, only six states have banned the use of e-cigarettes and other related products, and these bans do not apply to tobacco products.
One of those six states with an e-cigarette ban is California, which has been on the forefront of anti-smoking legislation since it was one of the first places to ban smoking within enclosed public spaces such as offices or restaurants.

However, because there are so many different laws across the country about how vaping can be used in various settings (such as workplaces), it pays to know what your state law says before you take any risks by doing something inappropriate like using an e-cigarette at work.
